| dc.description.abstract | Analysis of the Croton guildingii species complex in sect. Geiseleria leads to the synonymy of several formerly obscure species names of Croton in Venezuela and adjacent islands of the Lesser Antilles. Croton guildingii subsp. tiarensis from the Interior Coastal Range of northern Venezuela is newly described and illustrated. This subspecies occurs in a small region of serpentine outcrops and is one of the first examples of adaptation to serpentine soils in the genus outside of Cuba. | es_ES |
