Citation10th International Symposium on Fungal Endophytes of Grasses: Book of abstracts (2018)
AbstractWe hope that after the Symposium you will go back home with new ideas and inspiration for your endophyte work, but also with good memories of Salamanca, a city where learning has produced important works on human rights, economics, literature, or key support for an exploration project proposed by Columbus. Regarding the theme of our concern, at the present time there is a relatively recent acceptance of the important functional role of the microbiome in macroorganisms. This is changing some important philosophical conceptions in plant biology and agriculture, and research on Epichloë endophytes has been a leading force for this achievement. The ISFEG10 featured sessions on Evolution and Ecology of Endophytes, Genetics and Genomics of Endophytes, Endophyte Metabolism, Endophyte Discovery, Endophyte‐Plant‐Animal Interactions, Endophyte Associations in Agricultural Systems, and Non‐Clavicipitaceous Endophytes. A total of 111 scientific contributions which were submitted are presented in this book. We thank all authors for their valuable work and ideas.
