AbstractGrass pea (Lathyrus sativus) has considerable potential as legume crop in dryland farming systems. It is superior in yield, protein value, nitrogen fixation, drought, flood and salinity tolerance when compared to other legume crops. However, yield inconsistency due to sensitivity to specific diseases strongly limits its cultivation.
