Issue Date: | 20-Mar-2006 | Publisher: | American Physical Society | Citation: | Physical Review Letters 96(11): 112501 (2006) | Abstract: | We investigate the effects of the nearly fulfilled Efimov conditions on the properties of three-body esonances. Using the hyper-spheric adiabatic expansion method we compute energy distributions of fragments in a three-body decay of a nuclear resonance. As a realistic example we investigate the 1- state in the halo nucleus 11Li within a three-body 9Li + n + n model. Characteristic features appear as sharp peaks in the energy distributions. Their origin, as in the Efimov effect, is in the large two-body s-wave scattering lengths between the pairs of fragments. | Description: | 4 pages, 4 figures.--PACS nrs.:21.45.+v; 25.70.Ef; 31.15.Ja.--ArXiv pre-print available at: http://arxiv.org/abs/nucl-th/0603023v1 | Publisher version (URL): | http://link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/PhysRevLett.96.112501 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/15968 | DOI: | 10.1103/PhysRevLett.96.112501 | ISSN: | 0031-9007 | E-ISSN: | 1079-7114 |
