AbstractThe genus Poekilocerus Serville is distributed throughout East and North Africa, Arabia and Asia (Chopard 1943). The range of P. bufonius Klug includes N. Africa (Egypt), E. Africa (Sudan) and S.-W. Asia (Johnston 1956) ; in Israel it is found in the desert areas south of 'Wadi Raman, extending to the North along the Araba Valley and the Dead Sea depression. The Dead Sea population is probably the most northern one in Asia.
