Abstract: | Carbonaceous compounds are found in diverse astronomical media, and a significant amount is found in interstellar dust grais. Plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition in He + CH4 rf discharges can be used to produce analogues of the interstellar cabonaceous dust. In this work, we present a study of the structure and spectral features of these carbonaceous dust analogues. The experimental IR spectra of the deposited samples has been compared with calculated spectra generated in simulations using two unit substructures with different aliphatic and aromatic carbon proportions at various densities. |
