dc.description.abstractLunasin is a naturally occurring peptide found in soybean and other plants with potent chemo-preventive properties against different types of cancer. Lunasin (from the Tagalog word “lunas” for cure) is a 43-amino acid peptide initially identified in the soybean cotyledon (Galvez and de Lumen 1999). It corresponds to the small subunit peptide encoded within the soybean 2S albumin Gm2S-1 gene that also codes for a methionine-rich protein, a signal peptide, and a linker peptide.-
