ResumenIt analyzed the importance of instrumental in the Iberian Península music recognized by writers of the time of the Catholic Monarchs. The instrumental repertory was internationalized, a process that would speed up and mature with the wider and faster circulation of music through printing. While the Spanish kingdoms formed an integrated part of European instrumental practice, ethnic groups present there before 1492, and then as "conversos" or imported slaves, continued to make their contributions to instrument-making and performance and, in certain contexts, added distínctive elements to the instrumental sound world.
