[EN] The Ajbar maymu`a has traditionally been considered a collection of original texts, some of them quite ancient. On comparing them with other chronicles, and basing our study on the historical section of the reigns of the Omayyad emirs from al-Hakam I to `Abd Allah, it becomes evident that the work in question is very closely related to two late Maghribi sources, the Bayan and the Dikr, with which it shares a common source, still unidentified but derived to a great extent from Ibn Hayyan's Muqtabis. | en_US |
