Surface wave characterization of the Hontomin CO2 geological storage site

ResumenRayleigh and Love surfaces waves dispersion was measured in an 2D 3-components active reflexion seismic profile and was then inverted to obtain the 1D Vsv and Vsh shear- wave velocity models to help characterizing the shallowest region of the subsurface. Phase velocity dispersion was measured with the F-K technique. These dispersion easurements were inverted for each site to compute 1D Vsv and Vsh velocity models and those were then interpolated to provide 2D Vsv and Vsh velocity models. Comparison between those models give differences on properties dispersion of Rayleigh and Love surfaces waves. Geological Interpretation by these models , suited with the previous geological studies in the site, as well as the comparison with a Vp velocity model of the same seismic line, shows a good relation between Vp and Vs velocities in the shallowest subsurface of Hontomin site.
