AbstractDespite their chemical relationship there are no known mixed oxides of silver and copper. Naturally occurring minerals containing these two metals are limited to a few complex sulphides or selenides. No synthetic oxide analogue was known either. We have recently published the synthesis and preliminary structure of the first mixed oxide of silver and copper and report here the crystal structure refinement of this interesting phase by simultaneous fifting of powder X-ray and neutron diffraction data.
