Abstract[EN] The invention relates to a hydrogel having a cross-linked multicomponent polymer network structure, characterised in that said hydrogel includes: a) blocks derived from vinylpyrrolidone (V) and blocks derived from an anionic or anionisable alkene monomer (A), wherein the reactivity ratios in binary radical copolymerisation of (V) and (A) have maximum and minimum values of 0.5, respectively; and b) blocks derived from at least one cross-linking agent; as long as the one or more cross-linking agents are i) two cross-linking agents E1 and E2, wherein E1 is at least partially homologous with (A) and E2 is at least partially homologous with (V); or ii) a cross-linking agent E3 which is homologous with (A) and (V). The invention also relates to a method for obtaining the aforementioned hydrogel, which includes placing the monomers (A) and (V) in contact with the cross-linking agents E1 and E2, or the cross-linking agent E3, under radical polymerisation conditions. The invention further relates to the use of the hydrogel in biological, biomedical or biotechnology applications that require non-toxic hydrogel-cell interaction.
