Proton elastic scattering cross-section on helium from 0.6 to 3.0 MeV at laboratory angles between 110 and 165 degrees

AbstractThe differential 4He(p,p)4He reaction cross-section was determined at laboratory angles between 110-165⁰ for proton energies between 0.6 and 3.0 MeV using a solid thin target of porous silicon containing helium. The currently measured cross-section data are compared with the available literature values. The uncertainty in the present cross-section data is about 8.2%. The experimental cross sections have been analyzed within the R-matrix formalism, where its parameters (energy and width of the resonant states) have been adjusted in order to reproduce the experimental data.
