dc.description.abstractLaw has an essence, viz. ordaining the behaviour of members of society in so much as the living-together is concerned, with the sole purpose of the common good. However legal systems often depart from that essence, which brings about a contradiction. Reconciliation of the existent legal system with the essence of law as such is an asymptotic aim which lawyers are duty-bound to take as their guiding compass both on construing currently enacted law and on advising legal improvements.es_ES
