AbstractRecently, the distinct spectral shift between the near- and far-field optical response of plasmonic antennas has become subject of theoretical studies. By near-field optical microscopy and far-field optical spectroscopy of individual infrared-resonant nanoantennas we verify this spectral shift experimentally. We also discuss its implications.
