Spatial distribution of sediment contents of organic matter, chlorophyll a and nitrogen were determined in order to explain the effects of a paper kreft waste on the sedimentary communities. Organic matter is accumulated ata adistance of 50 m from the waste and is normally related with distance logarithm. C:N ratio and D430/D665 are a linear function of the distance log, and the concentration of chlorophyll a is related with the distance log, exponentially. Systems are dammaged in the neighbouring of the waste; comparaisons made with non polluted areas shows similar values of chlorophyll and organic matter tahan in samples taken 300 m far from the waste
