[EN] Sparus aurata is common along the Mediterranean coasts and is exploited using a number of different fishing gear. Young specimens are to be found in quantity all the year round in the bay of Alfaques, South of the Ebro mouth; older individuals disperse along the coastal waters, but in winter they concentrate in deep water. [FR] Sparus aurata, L. (=Chrysophrys aurata, Cuv. et Val. - ), espèce presente en la Mediterranée et dans l'Atlantique dès l'Angleterre jusqu'à les illes Canaries, est frequente dans la region catalane, où est pechée avec hameçons, filets maillants, chalut et filets trainants. La plus grande partie des exemplaires que nous avons etudié ont été capturés avec des tremails.
Pendant toute l'année on en trouve près de la côte, meme dans les lagunes litorales excepté en hiver, quand, probablement en relation avec la maturité sexuelle et la ponte, elle se déplace à une plus grande profondeur. [...]
