New issue of CSIC Abierto [16/07/2012]

CSIC Abierto 6 is already available here. On this occasion, we talk with scientific and librarian communities at Doñana Biological Station, Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes and Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry about open access to research outputs. The issue complestes with news and new useful resources by Digital.CSIC, CSIC Libraries Network and other initiatives of interest.

Digital.CSIC Annual Report 2011 gives an overview of main achievements through the year, including strategy for content growth, new functionalities and value added services for end-users, awareness raising and capacity building amonsgt CSIC researchers and libraries, dissemination and outreach efforts and institutional, international and national partnerships.

Interview to Jean François Dechamp [08/06/2012]

Support for CSIC authors to publish in open access [16/05/2012]
CSIC Unit of Information Resources for Research has renowed its partnership with Biomed Central and has reached similar agreements with Chemistry Central and SpringerOpen in order to cover 57% of OA publications costs for articles by CSIC researchers. Details of the programme, including resulting authors' involvement with Digital.CSIC and journals coverage, is available here.

First edition of Digital.CSIC Awards [17/04/2012]

Mendeley functionality available in Digital.CSIC [10/04/2012]
Now it is possible to export references of the items housed in Digital.CSIC to Mendeley. The button for bookmarking and linking is available under the title of items and it is necessary to have a Mendeley user account first.

Expert group meeting on Open Access in Biomedical Research [27/03/2012]
On March 21-22, the European Medical Research Councils (EMRC) organised with the collaboration of the CSIC Unit of Scientific Resources for Research (URICI) an expert group meeting on Open Access in Biomedical Research. More than 30 experts representing 11 ESF member organisations as well as research agencies, publishers and research library organisations throughout Europe gathered to discuss current barriers to access biomedical research and alternatives offered by open access. CSIC participates through its repository Digital.CSIC in this initiative that is coordinated by the European Science Foundation (ESF).

Registration open for new Digital.CSIC workshop [06/03/2012]
From March 5 to 16 CSIC researchers and librarians can register for the workshop "Management of authors' rights in open access. Open access policies and new models to measure the impact and evaluate the perfomance of scientific outputs" (Madrid, June 4-5). More details in the institutional web site.
