Handbook to Open Author Profiles [16/02/2017]
Opening author profiles is one new service in DIGITAL.CSIC and gives the opportunity to CSIC researchers to better showcase their research activity, link profiles with their works available in the repository and benefit from value-added services including aggregated usage statistics and network maps. The Handbook to Open Author Profiles provides with step by step instructions and some recommendations.

New OPRM article published in code4lib [31/01/2017]
OPRM: Challenges to Including Open Peer Review in Open Access Repositories examines technical developments of the Module and functioning of its associated submodule for new reputation metrics as well as an analysis of real cases gathered by the 2 participating  repositories and feedback received from their institutional scientific community. The article closes with the identification of issues for further focus by the OPRM team.

Funders' DOIs in DIGITAL.CSIC items [26/01/2017]
In December 2016 DIGITAL.CSIC Technical Office started to enrich the repository bibliographic records including information about research funders with their DOIs. Crossref Open Funder Registry is the source to retrieve and batch import these DOIs into DIGITAL.CSIC items.

Registration Open for "Introduction to Open Science" Workshop [10/01/2017]
DIGITAL.CSIC will deliver the first edition of the "Introduction to Open Science" workshop in Madrid on April 3-4, 2017. The event falls within the Annual Training Agenda for CSIC scientific and technical staff. The registration is open until next January 20 at the institutional platform.

New CSIC Abierto Issue Out [19/12/2016]

DIGITAL.CSIC at the THOR Bootcamp in Spain [21/11/2016]
International project to promote the usage of scholarly persistent identifiers THOR organised a Bootcamp to discuss about technologies and services for open research data in Madrid on November 17, 2016. DIGITAL.CSIC took part in the programme with a presentation about the repository's services for CSIC authors who generate data during the cycle of their scientific projects. 

DIGITAL.CSIC Celebrates International Open Access Week 2016 [24/10/2016]
Under the theme "Open in Action", this year's International Open Access Week (October 24-30) encourages all stakeholders to take concrete steps to make their own work more openly available and encourage others to do the same. DIGITAL.CSIC has released hottest new services to help CSIC scientific community enable open access to their publications, other research outputs and research data more easily.

COAR “Resource Type” Controlled Vocabulary Released [05/10/2016]
COAR has released its "Resource Type” Controlled Vocabulary for Open Access Repositories, version 1.1. This vocabulary standardizes the different types of content available in repositories (and other scholarly systems) to enhance cross-repository interoperability. It is currently available in 12 languages - English, Catalan, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish. The vocabulary supports a hierarchical model that relates narrower and broader concepts and is mapped to terms and concepts of similar vocabularies and dictionaries.  

Retrospective DOI minting for datasets [14/09/2016]
DIGITAL.CSIC Technical Office has handled the minting of DOIs for thousands of datasets already available in the repository and lacking this persistent identifier. This service has been channeled through CSIC membership to DataCite and has targeted open access datasets. Another related service provides DOIs to newly submitted datasets into the repository provided they do not have one yet.
