Special Issue of CSIC Investiga features H2020 projects [29/08/2022]
The special issue of the CSIC Investiga magazine, published in DIGITAL.CSIC, approaches different CSIC research projects carried out thanks to funding from the European Union under the H2020 framework program. CSIC is the third European beneficiary of H2020 competitive research grants and the institutional repository contributes to OpenAire with a large number of project results.
"Tools and Standards for Open Science" training materials [08/06/2022]
Last May 25-27, we delivered the online training workshop "Tools and Standards for Open Science" as part of CSIC Training Programme 2022. The workshop focused on a wide range of free tools to search for open access contents; make publications open access via repositories, journals and innovative infrastructures; disseminate preprints and support open peer reviews; curate research data and software in line with FAIR Principles, and manage science from an ethics perspective. The course also addressed standards and good practices by disciplines.
COAR Annual Meeting in CSIC [08/06/2022]
On last May 17-20, we had the pleasure to host COAR Annual Meeting 2022, the first one in a hybrid format since its first edition in 2010. The meeting was strategic for COAR member repositories to discuss progress in all COAR main work areas to enable the next generation of open access repositories. During the meeting COAR announced significant funding by Arcadia Foundation to support peer review services on top of repositories via COAR Notify project.
Horizon Europe, Open Science Practices and DIGITAL.CSIC Services [25/04/2022]
The slides of the webinar Horizon Europe, Open Science Practices and DIGITAL.CSIC Services delivered on last April 22 are already available here. The event went through the mandatory and recommended Open Science practices set by new funding programme Horizon Europe as well as related DIGITAL.CSIC support services.
Training materials about CSIC Open Access Mandate [06/04/2022]
On March 15-17, 2022 DIGITAL.CSIC Team delivered a training workhop to institutional libraries to go through most frequently asked questions about CSIC Open Access Mandate and the recommended strategy for CSIC researchers to comply with all dispositions in the policy and good practices for monitoring. The workshop also addressed new functionalities in new DIGITAL.CSIC software version and institutional Pasarela application.
Launch of CSIC Female Pioneers Portal [08/03/2022]
We join celebrations of International Women's Day with the launch of CSIC Female Pioneers Portal that will give access to DIGITAL.CSIC profiles of CSIC female researchers that made early contributions to the advancement of science. We count with the special collaboration of CSIC Women and Science Commission, which is in charge of supervising and preparing brief sketches with the most outstanding contributions of each of these researchers. This Portal will be updated regularly with new entries.
DIGITAL.CSIC strengthens its Repository as a Publisher services through a collaboration with Psicológica [03/02/2022]
We are excited to announce the relaunch of Psicológica, the journal of the Spanish Society for Experimental Psychology (SEPEX), as a Diamond Open Access journal published exclusively on DIGITAL.CSIC. This project kicks off in a time when both the sustainability of Diamond Open Access journals and the opportunities to consolidate Repository as a Publisher services have come to the fore in global discussion about innovative scholarly communications. This collaboration entails a new use case of the Open Peer Review Module on DIGITAL.CSIC. Read the full announcement here.
New collection with GBIF CSIC datasets [26/01/2022]
At the end of 2021, the 80 datasets contributed by 16 CSIC centers and institutes to the international biodiversity infrastructure GBIF were added to DIGITAL.CSIC. All the datasets are open access and contain information on the presence of a large number of biological species, predominantly from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, but also from elsewhere. This collection will be updated periodically on DIGITALCSIC
New CSIC Abierto Issue [25/11/2021]
The new issue of CSIC Abierto has been released and this time the focus is put on the second edition of CSIC Open Access Mandate Monitor and institutional support library services. The issue also features the rapid rise of preprints, Open Research Europe publication platform, EOSC related ESCAPE project and openMTA through interviews to CSIC researchers across different fields. A section about DIGITAL.CSIC news and training resources complete it.
FESABID statement about the transposition of European Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market [11/11/2021]
The Spanish community of libraries, museums, archives and similar centers observes serious contradictions in the reform of the Intellectual Property Law and criticizes the lack of dialogue and transparency in the process of transposition of the European Directive. Certain provisions generate great legal uncertainty or go against articles of the European text, for example, those relating to text and data mining. Read the full release.
