The first edition of this course focused on explaining open science, and in particular open access, research data management and the social dimension of science, from the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) approach. RRI is composed of 6 pillars, namely gender equality, open access, citizen engagement, science education, ethics and governance, and special attention was devoted to various open science issues that need to be taken into consideration when designing and implementing a responsible research and innovation project. To this end, good practices and recommendations for open science were explained, and examples of RRI policies and related free and useful tools were discussed. The course was aimed at CSIC technical and scientific staff with prior knowledge of open science. Access the course at https://digital.csic.es/handle/10261/338066.
