Monitoring by image processing and citizen science for the conservation of cultural heritage materials (MIPAC-CM). Y2018/NMT-4913: Frequently, the degradation processes of cultural heritage materials are associated with changes in their visual appearance, mainly in color. Based on this phenomenon, the MIPAC project aims to develop a tool for monitoring the environmental impact on cultural heritage materials, based on the color changes associated with deterioration. The monitoring of these changes is done through image analysis of photographs obtained with cell phones and provided by visitors through an App. This will provide a flexible, scalable and low-cost solution to collect conservation data, and on the other hand, encourage society's commitment to its heritage. The MIPAC project is focused on the preventive conservation of cultural heritage, both from a scientific and technological and social perspective, as it aims to involve the public in the conservation of museum collections.
