I have a broad interest in Animal Ecology, from Autoecology to Macroecology. I have been interested since the beginning of my research activity in Behavioural Ecology, and more recently in Biogeography. For projects on Behavioural Ecology I have used experimental approaches with the main aim of understanding the social systems of lizards and newts (visual and chemical communication, spatial relationships, social information, mating behaviour, behavioural syndromes, etc.), and the evolution of dispersal and its role for the conservation of fragmented populations. I have worked with different modelling techniques to carry out various projects on Biogeography (assessment of the impact of global change on biodiversity and agro-alimentary systems at multiple scales, forecasting biological invasions, integrating distribution models and physiological information, disentangling the role of biotic interactions in species distributions, drivers of diversification in ectotherms, etc.), and Landscape Ecology (effects of landscape structure and anthropogenic disturbance on biodiversity). I am currently interested in integrating historically segregated approaches to detect underlying processes of spatio-temporal patterns at different scales.
