En el grupo de Nutrición Molecular y Metabolismo del CIAL tenemos como objetivos: 1. El estudio de la actividad biológica y metabolismo de los alimentos y sus constituyentes en diferentes situaciones fisiológicas y patológicas. 2. Esclarecer los cambios en el metabolismo y los mecanismos moleculares subyacentes a la bioactividad de dichos constituyentes. Nuestra principal línea de investigación es el estudio de la influencia de determinados constituyentes de la dieta en la función metabólica de la microbiota intestinal y su impacto en la arteriosclerosis y enfermedades relacionadas. Para el desarrollo de nuestras investigaciones empleamos metodologías in vitro, ex vivo, técnicas de biología molecular y tecnologías ómicas de alto rendimiento (genómica, transcriptómica, proteómica y metabolómica).
