My research focuses on the application of proxy-based and instrumental datasets to accurately reconstruct the environmental and climatic evolution of a particular region of the Earth. These reconstructions have been carried out using Late Quaternary lacustrine sediments, with particular focus on the Pacific and on the North Atlantic regions. In particular, the main topic of my research has been to characterize the temporal evolution and relationship of the climate modes of variability (e.g. ENSO, NAO, AMO) and the solar activity.
