Doctora en Biología por la Universitat de Barcelona (2005), primer postdoc en la Universidad de Aarhus (2005-2008) y segundo postdoc en el mismo Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Blanes (2008-2011). Desde 2012 trabaja en el CEAB con el grupo del Dr. M. Ventura en aspectos relacionados con el estudio del cambio global, con un énfasis especial en la eutrofización y el efecto de las especies introducidas. En la actualidad es miembro de la oficina técnica del proyecto LIMNOPIRINEUS, cofinanciado por el programa LIFE + de la Unión Europea y coordinado desde el CEAB. Mi investigación se centra en el estudio de la dinámica de sistemas lacustres, paleolimnología y aspectos limnológicos del cambio global (el clima, la eutrofización y el efecto de las especies introducidas), utilizando los pigmentos liposolubles como marcadores taxonómicos de organismos fotosintéticos (algas, cianobacterias y bacterias fotosintéticas) y como indicadores indirectos de los procesos que tienen lugar en diferentes escalas espacio/tiempo (el herbivorismo, la anoxia y la eutrofización).
