ResumenThe Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) provides a platform aimed at the dissemination of georeferenced archaeological collections, product of the research carried throughout many years: IDEARQ. It will enable free and straightforward general public access to the results of scientific research, according to the Open Access Initiative. It comprises data of nearly 2000 archaeological sites spread all along the Iberian Peninsula, organized in three datasets that gather analytic data from Radiocarbon analysis, Archaeometallurgy artifact’s elementary analysis and Rock Art images. The aim is to achieve data harmonization to fulfill its launching as an Iberian Archaeology Spatial Data Infrastructure (IDEARQ). The main goal is to provide OGC-compliant WMS on archaeological thematic data that can be linked to Protected Sites included in the corresponding data specification. Data interoperability is therefore enforced through the use of the Cultural Heritage Application Schema, a proposal that tries to accommodate cultural heritage data within the INSPIRE Protected Sites data specification. IDEARQ gathers data relative to the chronological and typological characterization of archaeological sites, related documents such as rock art pictures, analysis results and related bibliography. It is built as an extension of the Cultural Heritage Application Schema, modeled in UML and implemented as a relational spatial database.
