This cruise was lead by HERMIONE partner Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (ICM-CSIC, Barcelona) in cooperation with HERMIONE partner Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze del Mare (CoNISMa-ULR, Ancona). Samples were also collected for scientists from HERMIONE partner, University of Aberdeen, who expressed their interest on the cruise but could not join it due to a conflict of dates.
