El Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Blanes (CEAB) es un centro de investigación del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). El CEAB inició su andadura en octubre de 1985 y en la actualidad centra su actividad investigadora en los ámbitos de la Ecología y la Biología de organismos tanto de sistemas marinos como de aguas continentales.

La investigación que se lleva a cabo en el CEAB tiene como objetivos generales el identificar la diversidad de organismos y entender sus funciones e interacciones en la naturaleza, así como la aplicación de este conocimiento en el uso y gestión racional de los recursos de nuestro planeta y la predicción de respuestas a modificaciones ambientales. Para ello se emplea una amplia gama de estudios y aproximaciones que abarcan desde la composición bioquímica y genética de los organismos hasta la estructura y dinámica de poblaciones y ecosistemas.

The Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes (CEAB) is a research center of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC), which is part of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. The CEAB began to work in October 1985 and currently focuses its research activity in the fields of Ecology and organisms Biology, in both marine and freshwater systems.

The main objectives of the research carried out at CEAB are to identify the diversity of organisms and to understand their functions and interactions in nature. Also important among our goals is to apply this knowledge to promote a rational use and sustainable management of the resources of our planet, and to predict ecosystem and organisms responses to environmental alterations. To this end, CEAB uses a wide range of studies and approaches, ranging from the biochemical and genetic composition of organisms to the structure and dynamics of populations and ecosystems.
