AbstractHypoxia is a critical factor during tumour progression, regulating the expression of multiple factors implicated in tumour growth, epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and invasive cell behaviour. We now learn that the EMT inducer Twist operates under the control of hypoxia signalling in the tumour microenvironment.
