Liber rationis. Los Roig de Valencia a través de un libro de familia

Abstract

[EN]Francesc Roig i Dou (Valencia, 1631-1692) wrote a beautiful family register which he bequeathed to his grandson, his heir, and which he passed on to his descendants until the second half of the nineteenth century. It gives material expression to the right of primogeniture founded by the author. The family register gathers information related to a Valencian patrician family throughout more than six centuries. This article contains different sections dealing with a study of the family register, the author’s biographical approach, and the transfer of the volume from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century

[ES]Don Francisco Roig y Dou (Valencia, 1631-1692) dejó escrito un precioso «libro de familia », destinado a su nieto y heredero, y continuado por los descendientes hasta bien avanzado el siglo XIX. Representa también la plasmación material del vínculo fundado por el autor. Su contenido abarca más de seis siglos de información de una familia del patriciado urbano valenciano. Este trabajo se articula sobre el estudio del libro, la aproximación biográfica del autor y la transmisión del volumen desde el siglo XVII al XIX.
