A classical sudden approximation for vibrational predissociation of the van der Waals molecules. Application to He...I2 complex

Abstract

In this paper a quasiclassical sudden model to study the Vibrational Predissociation of van der Waals molecules is presented by considering γ >conserving>. The classical approximation is applied to He...I2 system as a function of the initial excitation of the diatomic subunit, where a determined assignement of initial states was made for the purpose of comparing with theoretical and experimental results. The rates for the Vibrational Predissociation are in good agreement with the recent works. © 1985.Elsevier
