AbstractRestriction fragment length polymorphism and DNA sequencing of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products showed that a Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain of human origin resistant to macrolides, from which no resistance determinants have been detected by specific PCR and microarray screening, contained a heterozygous A → G transition mutation at position 2058 (Escherichia coli numbering) of its 23S rRNA genes.
