Abstract: Although a PhD thesis is authored by a single person (PhD candidate) and supervised by one or more doctors, the work is not restricted to such a master-slave relationship. The candidate additionally takes advantage of the environment, collaborations, the interactions with colleagues, friends, family, and so on. As usual, at the end of the doctoral process, it is an important step to acknowledge those people who directly or indirectly contributed to the work.
