Title: | A new insight on alkaline hydrolysis of calcium aluminate cement concrete: Part I. Fundamentals |
Authors: | Goñi Elizalde, Sara CSIC ; Andrade Perdrix, Carmen CSIC ORCID ; Sagrera, J. L.; Hernández, M. S.; Alonso, M. Cruz CSIC ORCID | Keywords: | Alkaline hydrolysis X-ray diffraction |
Issue Date: | Jul-1996 | Publisher: | Cambridge University Press | Citation: | Journal of Materials Research 11(7): 1748-1754 (1996) | Abstract: | In this work a hypothesis to explain the alkaline hydrolysis degradation process of calcium aluminate cement concrete (CACC) is presented. The hypothesis is based on x-ray diffraction (XRD) data of some samples taken from real Spanish CACC structures. The identification from XRD data of a hydrated alkaline aluminate could serve as a guide to differentiate both processes of normal carbonation and alkaline hydrolysis. | Publisher version (URL): | https://doi.org/10.1557/JMR.1996.0219 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/47573 | DOI: | 10.1557/JMR.1996.0219 | ISSN: | 0884-2914 |
