ResumenMedical applications of PTOBEE and PTOBDME, biocompatible and optically active polyesters, synthesized and characterized both as thermotropic and lyotropic. They exhibit surfactant character, which induces them to self-associate in different solvents by forming nanocavities between 200 and 400 nm, observed by steady-state fluorescence, RMN, and Raman spectroscopy. Their molecular mechanics models show helical molecules in all cases. Under dilution, CLCPs self-dimerize in a reversible way.
