AbstractFaced with changing food availability, organisms adapt metabolism to survive. In a recent issue of Cell, Lin et al. (2009) described the acetylation of an extranuclear enzyme being regulated by acetyl-CoA. This finding connects nutrient availability, energy status, and survival.
