Abstract: This contribution presents a new algorithm (NORFREA) to select fuzzy rules from a grid partition of the input domain. Besides using an efficiency measure for the rules, this algorithm employs an heuristic technique to reduce the influence of the initial grid structure. Different benchmarks of classification problems are included to illustrate the advantages of this algorithm.
