dc.description.abstractEpitaxial FePd thin films are obtained by sputtering deposition on MgO(1 0 0) and (1 1 0) substrates. In both orientations, it is found that growth temperature strongly affects crystalline structure of the films, namely both degree of chemical order and residual strain. As a consequence, by selecting the appropriate crystalline orientation and growth conditions, structures exhibiting strong uniaxial in plane or perpendicular magnetic anisotropy are fabricated.es_ES
