Abstract: Among the set of instruments presently used for the continuous recording of the variations of g, the most frequently employed are Lacoste-Romberg models G and D. The characteristics of these models are well known. The are easy to handle, inexpensive, and give good results. It is important that improvements in the design of these instruments keep pace with mathematical theory. This paper describes the apparent limitations of these gravimeters, focusing on improvements of the design of the module of automatic control, recordings of the inclinations, and calibrations that are being adapted for the G and D models of the Lacoste-Romberg gravimeter
