AbstractThe histopathology of larval Anisakis simplex B in naturally infected squids off south-eastern North Atlantic is described. Host tissue response to invading nematode larvae and their eventual encapsulation in the stomach of the squid hosts suggests a cell-mediated immune response in defende against parasitic invasions.
