Al-Tignari y su lugar de origen

Abstract

Abu ,Abd Allah Muhammad Ibn Malik, más conocido por al-Tignari, fue uno de los más destacados miembros de la escuela agronómica andalusí. Inició su actividad literaria en la taifa granadina, durante el gobierno del último zirí, ,Abd Allah, y, tras la llegada de los almorávides, se desplazó por diversas ciudades andalusíes, norteafricanas orientales. Pese a que de él se conocen algunos más detalles biográficos que de los restantes geóponos coetáneos, hay una serie de referencias no del todo exactas que se han ido transmitiendo en cadena, sin cotejar con la fuente primaria. En este trabajo se pretende aclarar algunos de estos datos erróneos y, al mismo tiempo, dar noticia de otros no conocidos.

Abu ,Abd Allah Muhammad Ibn Málik, known as al-Tignari, was one of the most prominent members of the Andalusian agricultural school. He began his literary activities in the taifa of Granada during the government of the last ziri, ,Abd Allah, and when the Almoravids arrived, he spent time in various Andalusian, North African and Near Eastern cities. Although his life is better documented, with more details, than those of other contemporary agricultural writers, however there are some references which are not very exact. These references repeatedly handed down are of dubious origin. This article is an attempt to clarify some of these dubious or erroneous references and to present others that are unknown.
