Estudio microgravimétrico en la Caldera del Teide

Abstract

In this study, the first results obtained in a gravimetric exploration in the Caldera of Teide, Tenerife, Canary Islands, are presented. The gravimetric anomalies observed permit us to deduce the existence of a double vault, with an important mass deficit centered in the southeast base of the volcano Teide that seems to support the hypothesis of a caldera collapse, at least for an important part of the present depression.

Se presenta en este trabajo los primeros resultados de la campaña microgravimétrica efectuada en la Caldera del Teide con objeto de completar su estudio estructural. El mapa de anomalías de Bouger, sin corrección topográfica, fig. 2, muestra muy interesantes posibilidades de interpretación pero creemos necesario concluir la corrección topográfica antes de hacer cualquier hipótesis sobre el mismo.
