| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | One of the main aims the research that we have been carrying out in the Iberian Peninsula, since 1974, into periodical variations in gravity, has been to gather observations in a large enough quantity, and from an adequate variety of locations, to enable us to build a model; a model which would allow the neccesary gravimetrical corrections to be calculated wherever needed (R. Vieira, 1978). At present, this is possible, even if while the foreseen observations are being carried out, the model will gradually improve, above all in the areas where there is a considerable shortage of observations. In this report we describe the method followed to draw up this model, and we present results which demostrate the important differences that exist between the corrections calculated when using the classic theoretical model (Sevilla, M. J., 1976) and those obtained from the semi-ernpiric model which we have drawn up. These differences, which naturally will depend on the time and the point that the observation is taken, can be of the order of 2 X 10-7 mrsecond2, which equals 20 microgals (1 gal = 1 cm/second2). | en_US |
