New data on the Madeiran Storm Petrel (Oceanodroma castro) in the Canary Islands. New information is given on the status, distribution and reproduction of the Madeiran Storm Petrel in the Canarian Archipelago. The species was found to occur in Alegranza and Montaña Clara (N of Lanzarote), in Lobos (Fuerteventura), in the Roques de Anaga and Garachico (Tenerife), and in the Roque Grande de Salmor (El Hierro). The most important breeding places are the Roques de Anaga followed by Alegranza and Montaña Clara. The last two islands house very small colonies. The entire population of this storm petrel in the Canary Islands is estimated as less than 300 pairs. Altough reproduction seems to ocurr mainly between October and February, the capture of birds during July and August might suggest the existence of either a more prolonged breeding season or of two nesting periods.
