Abstract[EN] The distribution of iron forms such as (total, free oxides, silicates, amorphous, cristallized, organic, inorganic amorphous, activity ratio, ferrous exchangeable, total exchangeable, and iron extractable in H2O and 1% solution of Na2 EDTA) along of profiles in five different soils is studied. Total and free iron show a similar pattern of distribution in the soils. Both forms increase with the profile depth in can see in the groups of Terra fusca-rossa and Xerorendzina gypsum, while the opposite situation has found in the case of Brown Earth and two Serosems. In every soils, the amorphous and organic iron appear relatively unaffected throug all soils horizons, because a constant value is obtained. By the other hand, the distribution of the free iron percentage with respect to total iron along the five soil profiles is quite different, that is: Terra fusca-rossa (59,17-62,71), Marly-sandy Serozem (47,49-58,62), Marly-saline Serozem (7,87-53,13), Gypseous xerorendzine (19,28-27,12) and Brown Earthz (14,28-18,83). Along the profile of Terra fusca-rossa the amorphous and organic iron percentages with respect to total iron, show relatively high values, being (25,92-28,50) y (4,63-10,45) respectively. In order to know the potential availability of these soils related to iron nutrient for plants, various extracting solutions are evaluated. It has found that the values obtained with the 1% Na2EDTA method are low in all soils, except in Terra fusca-rossa which exhibits a high content of available iron to plant (74-188 ppm).
