ResumenThe purpose of this article is to present, in a popular journal, the results of the first phase of the Proyecto Ta-hut: the historical graffiti of the Temple of Debod. Understanding these graffiti as sources for the history of the building, the Project has organized them by categories. They have also been dated on the basis of a set of criteria established to ascribe them to a cultural frame related to a defined chronology. Thus, each type of graffiti is understood as a testimony of a life period in the temple, from the initial worship to Egyptian gods, to the activities enacted in the building when paganism disappeared. Several groups of people have left their traces at different Lower Nubia historical phases: Greek and Coptic speaking devotees, nomads during Blemmyes’ control, Christian, Fatimid and Ottoman conquerors, European travelers with their dragomen...
