Abstract

[EN] Creation questioned. The relationship between science and religion from the historical perspective. The history of the relationship between science and religion has been object of debates and interpretations since the second half of the XIX century. The interaction between the two is encompassed in three models: conflict, mutual support, and total separation. The origins of the existence of the universe, of life and of mankind, basically Darwin’s theory of evolution, are scientific issues that have aroused polemic and stirred up the hostility of religious movements and ecclesiastical hierarchy.
