[EN]: Within the hyperthermic syndromes the most frequent is the heat stroke. This is defined as a health emergency characterized by an increase in body temperature above 40°C and by alterations in the central nervous system. Although the incidence in the north of Spain is low, it has a high mortality rate. In the last decades, this pathology is increasing considerably, as it is favored by global warming. Although hyperthermia may be caused by different mechanisms in this work, we will focus on the increase of secondary body temperature to drugs that interfere in body thermoregulation either at the central or peripheral level. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), prevention is the best way to avoid the increase in these deaths, and nurses play a fundamental role since they are responsible for promotion and primary prevention through various interventions and activities. In addition to the aforementioned, most of the time, the nursing staff also performs an early recognition of the pathology. |
