The evolution of shapes with the number of nucleons is studied in a search for signatures of E(5) and X(5) critical point symmetries. It is shown that the energy barriers in the PECs are determined to a large extent by the treatment of the pairing correlations. | Descripción: | 8 pages, 2 tables, 12 figures.-- PACS nrs.: 21.60.Jz; 21.60.Fw; 27.60.+j; 27.70.+q.-- ArXiv pre-print available at: http://arxiv.org/abs/0711.1308v1 | Versión del editor: | http://dx.doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevC.76.064303 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/15526 | DOI: | 10.1103/PhysRevC.76.064303 | ISSN: | 0556-2813 | E-ISSN: | 1089-490X |
